The Next Big Thing

 next-big-thing

next-big-thingI’ve received a wonderful honor!  The delightful and talented—and my good friend—Margaret L. Sharp has tagged me for The Next Big Thing!  So, what do I do?  I reveal some intriguing facts about my forthcoming title and nominate five other worthy writers:

1. What is the working title of your book?

The Silver Treasure.

2. Where did the idea come from for your book?

The Silver Treasure is the third book of my series, The Royals of Adriel.  The story idea for the first book, Queen of the Stars, struck me like a lightning bolt, introducing me to my characters, Princess Sarra and alias Raine Nicks.  After their tumultuous romance, they produce very dynamic offspring—hence, the second book, The Princess of the Wild, which is the romantic adventure of their firstborn, adult son and his love interest.  The Silver Treasure is about the romance of one of their daughters.  Two more books will follow.

3. What genre does it fall under?

Science Fiction Romance.

4. What actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

No one in particular comes to mind.  The actor would be ruggedly handsome, having dark hair and brilliant blue eyes.  The actress would have to be stellar, ivory-haired and emerald-eyed.  Both extraordinary.  Any suggestions?

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

The third book in The Royals of Adriel saga, The Silver Treasure is a futuristic tale brimming with exotic romance, adventure and intrigue.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Self-published.  I like having control over the production of my books.

7.How long did it take you to write the first draft of your book?

A first draft can take a year or more.  But, that’s all right with me, because experiencing my characters for the first time is the most rewarding part of the writing process.

8. What other books would you compare your story to within the genre?

Science Fiction Romance stories that have elements of an otherworldly sovereignty, exotic romance, and perilous intrigue.

9.Who or what inspired you to write this book?

Truly, Princess Sarra and alias Raine Nicks inspired me, their eternal love prompting me to carry on their legacy of The Royal Family of Adriel.

10. What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest?

The Silver Treasure is a pampered princess’ quest for adventure, snaring her with a mysterious rogue in a perilous hunt for treasure.

  1. I’m excited to hear of your forthcoming titles!
There’s something really engaging about a series: the links it brings: family connections akin to real life.
    Wonderful!

    • Thanks, Margaret! I like series books, too. The original story in a series continues, introducing exciting new characters with all their conflicts and hopes, their dreams as they all become a family, much like real life.
